- Chatham is consistently ranked as a best college by U. S. News & World Report. Chatham is also frequently ranked in the U.S. News & World Report as a Best Value School and a Top Performer in Social Mobility in the same category.
- Chatham University has been recognized as a College of Distinction, which recognizes colleges focusing on excellence in engagement, teaching, community, and outcomes – the aspects that have been shown to result in effective undergraduate education.
- Chatham has a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, the most prestigious national undergraduate honors society.
- Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society named Chatham to its Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways Chatham has created to support transfer students.
- Chatham’s online programs are routinely ranked as one of the “Best Online Colleges” by the U.S. News & World Report.
Sustainability
- Chatham routinely ranks within the top universities in the world for sustainability, as measured by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS).
- Eden Hall Campus was recognized nationwide with an Education Facility Design Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects.
- Chatham University’s Falk School of Sustainability & Environment at Eden Hall Campus was one of four organizations awarded the Environmental Leadership Award by the Pennsylvania Resources Council.
- Chatham is a long-standing “Tree Campus USA” in recognition of the University’s commitment to promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.
- Chatham has received a prestigious Climate Leadership Award from Second Nature, a non-profit that works to create a healthy, just, and sustainable society by transforming higher education.
- The International Sustainable Campus Network honored Chatham with a Sustainable Campus Excellence Award for Eden Hall Campus.
- Chatham has been recognized by the U. S. Green Building Council, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future and was the first university in Pennsylvania to be recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bike Friendly University.
Inclusion & Community Engagement
- Chatham University has been honored as the #3 College for Aspiring Women Leaders based on its commitment to furthering women's studies and gender equality.
- Strive for College’s “Strive Five” program recognized Chatham University for excellence in Inclusion for Chatham’s enrollment and support of students with Pell Grants.
- Chatham University has received a Military Friendly® Designation on the Military Friendly Schools list. The designation recognizes Chatham as a higher education institution that provides the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses.
- Chatham University was designated a Voter Friendly Campus by the NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and Fair Election Center’s Campus Vote Project.
- Chatham’s Center for Women's Entrepreneurship - Women's Business Center, hosted by The Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Chatham University, was selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2018 Women’s Business Center of the Year.
Additional Honors
- Chatham’s Board of Trustees was one of six institutions honored with the 2016 John W. Nason Award for Board Service by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.
- Chatham was proud to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2019. The City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County declared November 12, 2019 as Chatham University Day.
